Girl X World is the ideal marriage of travel meets fashion film, as we take a look at the beautiful Maui landscape from a birds eye view. These films utilize heavy drone coverage as well as personal and up-close moments intermixed. The stories are based on the looks and landscapes themselves. The main intent is to create an interest to visit Maui and experience it’s natural wonder for yourself.

The Girl x World series we created for Harper’s Bazaar was one of the largest editorial undertakings I had been a part of. In the editorial world, roles and positions get easily blended and while I served as the cinematographer on the series, my involvement was heavy into producing and directing the videos as well. It was my first experience dabbling in both worlds at once, and helped me transition into mainly producing & directing which I do mostly now. We shot multiple locations throughout the island of Maui, worked closely with our FAA certified drone pilot and a local guide to get the best shots where we could. It was incredibly logistically challenging to find places that would have minimal tourists in which we could properly fly our drone. We had to balance time, daylight, and a rigorous shoot schedule over just three whole days.

My Roles: Initial concepting with the creative director, working on the visual execution with our drone pilot, capturing the imagery on the ground, operating the drone camera while our drone pilot flew the drone, and providing visual direction to the talent.
